Ilgaz Mountain National Park
The land on which Ilgaz Mountain rises is generally made up of serpentine rocks, schists and volcanic rocks.
Both the land and the formations of mountains offer interesting examples in the area. The Northern Anatolian Fault, the longest and most active ruptured fault line in Turkey, passes through the southern foothills of Ilgaz Mountain. The area consists of various types of valleys, ridges and hilltops. It also has a geomorphological structure with highly valued landscape qualities.
